BANG CHANG KUIH

"Bang Chang Kuih", also called "Apom Balik" in Malay is a very popular snack in Malaysia. Traditionally made in a cast-iron like pan over charcoals, this sweet pancake is usually eaten for breakfast but also enjoyed in the evenings. Its origin probably from Southern Indian or Sri Lankan, as a similar sweets called "Apom" sold by the Indian in Penang.

Roast Ground Peanut Filling

Cream Sweet Corn Fillings

Bang Chang Kuih is a big crispy pancake filled with sweet fillings and most commonly the fillings are roasted crushed peanuts, caster sugar and sometimes creamed sweet corn too.

I grew up eating this for breakfast. Dad would gave me money to go to the market and buy 2 pieces for both of us to eat with kopi-o.

It is still my favourite and bring back lots of memories when I was still living with my parents back in Georgetown.
